HOW TO STOP BEING CONTROLLED BY YOUR PHONE

 



Don't be like Jeffrey,He doesn't realise that his biggest problem is simply internet addiction ,you might be able to relate. Here's how Jeffrey's day to day life is.

He wakes up late and the first thing that he is going to grab is his cellphone and immediately start checking notifications from all social media platforms to porn Hub to video games all on his phone while he is still sleeping on his bed.


He wants to be productive, he wants to start a business,he wants to start a YouTube channel but once it is time to start doing all the work,He distracts himself once again.His mind takes him to YouTube where he will start watching shitty videos of self improvement and self reproduction ,he spends the rest of the day flicking between websites and apps all along with consuming content that doesn't help him with anything in life.That is the life of a modern young .Kinda sounds like your life doesn't it?





Adonis has heard of the internet ,he looks over the meldwing indulging strange inventions,wierd.He wonders why this men are exploring in video games when they could just explore in real life.The same man shut down that big strange technology on a computer and open his cellphone and kept swiping and scrolling and swiping . It's interesting that it doesn't seem to make them any happier.


My dad banned me from playing video games at a very young age like 10 years old but of course being a young boy who doesn't understand that he is addicted to video games ,i found a way to continue playing.Me and my brother would set an alarm on a clock of like early about 6:30 in the morning before anyone wakes up .One would stay on the passage for a lookout for certain minutes while the other is still playing and we even had secret coughs that alarmed when someone is coming by.


I would play with anxiety and fear of if our parents woke up to the point that if i could hear a single thing I would turn of the computer and run into blankets.One time i was too slow,my dad walked towards my back ,that was cringe,i guess he could have known what i was doing,when i realised him I put my hand in the computer screen and he asked "what are you doing" and i was like "erh urh i was writing a letter and it's not done yet therefore you can't see it" and he was like "oh okay"..but i know he must have noticed that i was playing video games.


That i know sound like a cute fun story but that is actually a story of two young boys who were so addicted to video games to the point that they have even experienced the sleep deprivation for it.That is a serious take on what happened and it is the truth and that is happening to you too or it has happened to you.Every guy who has been a video gamer knows this.


You will truly see the change of pattern to your health, to your sleep,to your diet ,to your physical ability .It just started from the internet with just video games and it eventually it just taken over our entire lives. Your entire day revolves around the internet now, so how to you use it wisely.It think most people who are on the extreme side or content over consumption , content abuse, internet abuse ,all there every day, that's what a normal person's life is like.


Now we could go all the other way on the extreme side and inside.Live a monk or turn everything off, throw your phone away or do those cringy things the YouTubers do of 'I replaced my phone with a flip phone '.But if you go on this extreme site chances are that you won't last,you won't create such a sustainable change,it might be like a fun challenge for 30 days , the answer that you've been looking for this entire whole time is Digital minimilesm , that's a special word,a way to use technology in the internet that right way and mindfully .


Our issues with the internet,video games,social media is specifically about the fact that we don't really feel in control of it.There's no doubts that you and every other young person out there is watching this wishes to have control and could just snap a finger and say "yep i wish to use this technologies for 1 hour a day" but more and more and more we find ourselves using it more than we actually wanted to.





That loss of autonomy scares us .The cure is to use this technology mindfully and you must know why you are pulling you phone out.You go on your phone to about 100 times on a day and i guarantee 5 or 10 of those times are mindful and purposeful coz like you know okay 'um gonna take out my phone and um gonna message this boss or um gonna do this' most of the time you just do it out of routine and and bored.Before you go on the internet or your computer nake a statement on your mind like 'I an going to my phone to to X' or ' I am going to my computer to do X'.


Do the hard work, especially when you don't feel like it.
